What is HPO?
HPO is the Hart Parent Organization. The purpose of this organization is to facilitate communications between the school administration, parents, and faculty to support the students and school activities. In addition, HPO serves as an advisory group to the Principal regarding educational and facility needs, problems, or improvements. We work under the umbrella of the Hart Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our tax ID is 95-4529527.
How to JOIN and WHY
It’s easy to join! Just fill out the Volunteer Form online and the white envelope in your student’s registration packet and have your student return it, along with your membership donation, to the HPO station during registration, or your student may drop it off at the Hart Administration office. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. Every single dollar raised stays at Hart. In addition to funding needed improvements at the school, your funds allow us to provide an informative speaker series during the fall semester and ten or more senior scholarships at the end of the year for which only member students are considered.
HPO acquires all of its funding through membership by Hart parents or gifts by local businesses. WE WILL NOT SOLICIT YOU DURING THE YEAR. Your donation can be made with cash or check payable to HPO. Enclose it in the white envelope provided in your students registration student packet. It will be collected during student registration or you may turn it in at the Administration office at Hart High School anytime during the school year.
All expenditures are made by committee with direction from the administration. Annually, funding goes to purchase office supplies, ASB Student Assistance, HPO Student Assistance Fund, Staff Appreciation, student planners and informational events for Hart families. Additional funding goes towards major improvements that affect the greatest number of students. Recent purchases include lighting and video equipment installation along with a new sound system in the large gym, wiring for on-stage technology access and a projection system in the auditorium. HPO also aided in the purchase of a new digital soundboard making Hart the premier location in our district for school and community events. Recently, we bought purified water filling stations along with replacement filters for the cafeteria and large gym. In 2019, we purchased a much needed screen for the Hart Auditorium Stage. Getting Involved with HPO
Please fill out the Volunteer information form online during your student’s registration. We will email/call you to help in the areas you have indicated, so make sure to let us know if you have any special skills/talents you are willing to share. There are plenty of opportunities for working as well as non-working parents to help, and the HPO and school administrators would appreciate any time and resources you can give.
Additionally, please join us at the various events that we have scheduled throughout the year. A variety of topics will be discussed at the meetings, and the Hart Administration often attends the meetings to provide important information and to answer questions that parents may have. Please see the Meeting/Events page for a list of dates/times for each meeting as well as a brief description of the topics that will be discussed. Dates may change, so please check back prior to a published meeting date.
